By implementing this process, we can quickly identify any harmful bacteria and assess its potential risk to the environment.

After initial analysis and identification, our experienced team treat the water system to remove the risk and thereafter provide our consistent management and monitoring service to ensure that the risk remains low and does not reoccur in the future.

Sampling and analysis: The Process

At Enviroliance, we take the time to outline all processes to our clients to maintain transparent communication at all times.

Once the requirement for Sampling and Analysis of your water system is confirmed, one of our fully trained and experienced Technicians will be sent to your site to collect samples of both hot and cold water from various locations.

Our Technician will then use a submission sheet to record the number of samples collected, together with their respected temperatures.

Once collected and recorded, all samples are sent to a UKAS accredited laboratory where they will be analysed for microbial activity.

Water systems will be sampled for legionella when:

  • Water systems are treated with biocides where storage and distribution temperatures are reduced from those recommended.
  • In systems where control levels of the treatment regime (eg. temperature, biocide levels) are not being consistently achieved.
  • When an outbreak is suspected or has been identified
  • Sites where ‘at risk’ people have been identified
  • After invasive work on water systems has been carried out
  • As a measure of the efficacy of control measures

Once the results of the samples are provided and confirmed, our Technicians will contact you to discuss our recommended treatment methods or next best steps, where we often recommend our consistent Monitoring and Maintenance service to ensure any future risk remains low and does not reoccur in the future.
